My time at the Centre for Robotics and Automation (CRA) has been one of the most enlightening journeys of my undergraduate days. Being an active member at CRA helped me immensely in connecting theoretical understanding with engineering practice, as well as helping me in innovation, leadership and teamwork.
I was honored to be the Team Lead Manager of Team Nirma AUV and the President of the Nirma Robotech Club (NRC) during my time at CRA. This helped me learn many key qualities such as project management, planning, team management, problem solving, and communication. Managing teams to participate in challenging national and international competitions made me realize the importance of perseverance, accountability and decision making in a team environment.
The environment provided by CRA allowed us to think beyond classroom education, be proactive about our initiatives, own our projects, and convert our thoughts into engineering solutions. Mentoring from our faculty guides, technical help, and the atmosphere of innovation has played a significant part in my technical and professional development.
Some of the most important things I have learned at CRA is that success is much more than getting results.
All this exposure has greatly boosted my confidence, and I feel better prepared for my future profession.
I truly appreciate the guidance and support I have received from my faculty mentors and the whole CRA team. All the experience and values I have gained from here will always motivate me in the future, and I highly recommend every student to make the best use of the opportunities CRA provides.
