I was a member of Team Nirma Robocon from 2019 to 2022, starting as a trainee and eventually becoming a team leader. During this period, I underwent significant personal and professional growth. I enhanced my technical skills, developed a strong work ethic, managed projects effectively, and solved complex problems. These skills later enabled me to invent a product for treating Early Onset Scoliosis in children, which received patents in both India and the US through the organization I worked with.
But the best part was the friendships I made. We supported each other through thick and thin, not just during our time in Robocon, but also beyond.
Working in the team wasn’t always smooth sailing. We faced tough times, especially when we lost in the National Competition two years in a row. But with the guidance of our mentors, Dr. Mihir Chauhan and Dr. Akash Mecwan, we learned to bounce back and eventually won the national competition, representing India internationally. This taught me the value of never giving up.
The Centre for Robotics and Automation (CRA) provided us with great support, both in terms of expert guidance and project funding. Thanks to them, I was able to complete my final year project on Swerve Drive under Dr. Mihir Chauhan’s guidance, which helped me achieve a perfect CGPA in my final semester.
Looking back, being part of Team Nirma Robocon wasn’t just a hobby. it was a transformative experience that fueled both personal and professional growth. The team has left an indelible mark on my identity, shaping me into the person I am today.
