Team Nirma AUV Sets Sail for SAUVC 2025 in Singapore

Team Nirma AUV, comprising 11 interdisciplinary students from the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, is all set to participate in the Singapore Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Challenge (SAUVC) 2025, scheduled from March 14 to 17, 2025. The team will depart for Singapore on March 12 and return on March 19.

SAUVC is a prestigious international underwater robotics competition that challenges teams from around the world to design and build fully autonomous underwater vehicles capable of executing complex tasks in a controlled underwater environment.

After months of rigorous research, development, and testing, Team Nirma AUV has successfully built an advanced autonomous underwater robot. Their robot can independently perform a range of tasks required in the competition, including:
Flare detection and avoidance
Gate crossing
Identification of the designated basket
Dropping a ball into the identified basket
Retrieving the dropped ball

This competition is a platform for young engineers and researchers to demonstrate their skills in robotics, artificial intelligence, and underwater navigation. Team Nirma AUV, which has previously excelled in national-level competitions, is now aiming to make a mark on the international stage.

The Institute of Technology, Nirma University, extends its best wishes to the team for a successful performance at SAUVC 2025. May their innovation, dedication, and teamwork lead them to new heights of excellence!

Stay tuned for updates on the team’s journey and achievements! 🚀🌊
